Soup, maths

Owen pretends not to like maths and aces it.

Sam insists on gazpacho soup for breakfast *bork*

He doesn't eat it all...'but it's nice'...yeah right.

Sam works in some maths, it's a new lesson and he meltsdown because he expects to be able to do it via osmosis. Any suggestion about actually 'learning' how to do it met with howls. So I leave there.

Later when Sam's calmed down...it took a while...they go out to play with their friends at the park.

The next day Sam is up at 3 am AGAIN! He's gone into a mad sleep cycle again. I wait till its light, then we go walking to sooth the fuzzy brain.

It's a truly beautiful sunrise in the mist,

Thankfully, at the end of our long walk, Sam's medication is working and he is much calmer.

We spend time with Owen watching this...it was really good and they watched two back to back.

Sam made soup..veg. This is the first time he has dared to hold the sharp knife.

We use our new instant cooker, which is something Sam has been dying to try out.

Owen does some word searching.

Sam plays with his word soup game ( it's all about the soup this week!)

Then there was much playing outside and in with friends.

We went on a Mythbusters marathon, as there was a new series.

Sam word searching today.

But he's still not sleeping and this parent is exhausted, so I speak to his consultant and we formulate a plan. She's flipping amazing.

We watch more history with Dad later.

I manage a run in my own as *gasps* Sam is still asleep *thank you!*

More maths lessons are completed, without a meltdown *phew*

There is also much reading, researching and playing with friends too.

Walking

We all did one of the local walks near our home together.

It was nice to have Blokey with us on his day off. The children enjoyed showing him the path.

We stopped for a drink at the pub.

Sam practiced his writing and poured over his new British coin book. We had been to the library and stocked up on a bag full of books.

Owen did some colouring.

And got excited by a box of mixed sensory activities.

Later their friends came over to and and the children flitted in and out the house between indoor games and the park.

More Piggie journaling was done.

We rediscovered some of our old toys.

Nanny and Grandad came to visit and we went to the park.

The boys started watching this series with Blokey and found it facinating.

Sam is also playing word games a great deal. His current favourite is the 'word soup' app.

We have friends over on Friday to play and had a lovely afternoon catching up. We also updated our dog journal.

Owen came for a walk. He was having a tough time and very frustrated with some social stuff he's struggling with. We had a long talk as we walked.

He did get very angry at a one point because I wouldn't agree with him, but later when we were home, and he had mulled it over, he set about rectifying some of the issues and felt better.

Blokey worked on the bus, I went for a bike ride with Sam, Owen played with his friend online and they built 'stuff' together.

The next morning Sam was up at 3am, so I took him for a walk to try and ease his fizzy brain. We did some blackberry picking as we walked and he talked..and boy did he talk. He refuses to pick the berries himself due to his wasp and fly phobia, so I get him to hold the box. Only problem is he flits behind me, randomly shouting 'there's one!'. As everything's said with the same level ( level 100 that is) of urgency, I never know whether he's shouting that there's a wasp/fly, or he's pointing out blackberries. Even when he's pointing out blackberries, you have no idea where they are because he can't keep still...this also makes putting them in his box pretty much a crap shoot. I make sure we are far from the houses because he's rather loud and it's very early!

A rare still moment with box.

The woods near our house.

Past the wheat fields...he's now talking about dead animals he has found.

Spotting the last few swifts...he's mental but happy love him.

At the halfway point of this walk we do, we have to stop and admire the views. It's now 2km and he's run backwards and forwards like a terrier the whole way, so I reckon he's covered 4 km min...he's still hyperactive.

Heading home now and he's moved on to road safety as his weapon of choice for my sore head.

Finally home covering 4.38km ( me) ...Sam's actual distance is anyone's guess. His meds start to kick in and I manage to get him in the shower just as my shopping arrives. It's 9am...I feel I have done a full day.
