Getting slowly back into the swing of things

As the schools aren't back yet and I am not well with a tummy problem, we plodding along.

This morning we eased back into some shared activities. Owen and Sam showered and tidied their rooms. Then we wrote our thank you cards.

The boys found this programme and decided to watch it. It was about a huge group of  ants, a super colony, that are changing the way we think ants can behave.

In the evening the children restarted their jujitsu classes, although they were the only ones there, so enjoyed having their mentor all to themselves.

The children always sleep late after jujitsu and today was no exception.
Sam was up first and keen to practice his writing. He then helped with some chores, changing his bed and vacuuming the living room.

Owen did some chores, changed his bed and worked on a maths lesson.

Thursday and I am still feeling quite unwell, even so Sam showered himself and worked on his writing and maths without any input from me. He also baked some of his favourite 'chocolate breads'. He is getting much more confident at doing this but covets every last one for himself. Should blokey eat one, he has to face the wrath of Sam.

Owen looked after himself and his pet snail, then started to write a joke book. He has decided that he needs to be able to write better so we discussed how a little bit of practice each day would help his hand muscles get stronger.

We also played Harry Potter Trivial Pursuits game...

Over the weekend I was ill and the boys visited town with their Dad whilst I rested. Both bought books and did a lot of reading as well as playing with their friends.
