Drones, Norbury, and other things

Sam and I plotted out a new walk to Norbury Junction, which is a short drive from here.

Sam was excited to try a new walk.

The road bridge over the canal.

View from the top of the road bridge...not that Sam would look!

Walking towards Norbury Grange.

The moat and a few foundations are all that is left of the grand house that once stood here.

The views across to Norbury.

Alongside the Wharf walking down to the brook.

Back along the canal on a different route back.

Some lunch out.

Owen had bought a drone with his birthday money and it was faulty. We took him back to get it replaced. He then promptly lost it and despite searching high and low, it was never found. Here is me stuck in one of the hedges where he lost it.

Despite the huge upset losing the drone, Owen managed to recover and come for a walk the next day.

He did really well again and rather enjoyed himself.

Inbetween all this, there were many play dates at our house and the local park. Sam came for another run with me. Sadly I didn't do much running as I had an awful migraine.

We started a photo document of our dog Piggy.

I had to visit the hospital for some tests and after we took Blokey and Owen to do the walk to Norbury. It's the furthers Owen has walked ..I think the promise of a pub meal half ways helped a great deal.

Burger and chips but no photos!

Norbury wharf.

Spotting wildlife as we walked.

I continued with my training and wellness program...and saw some land sharks.

We took more photos of our old girl.

And the local views.

Again there was much reading, playing and socialising inbetween.

The School holidays

Monday saw the start of the Summer Holidays. The boys spent the day playing outside, and having friends over. We also looked at a new app that helps you identify things like plants and creatures. Here's one we found.

We are trying to do a little formal work each day to keep the children from forgetting and losing skills. It's a thing here and causes much frustration. Sam wanted to do some writing.

Then they watched a programme on Bullfrogs using Wildkratts, which is excellent and fun.

Owen then chose to do some maths and worked really well and happily.

They then shot off to the park to play with their friends.

We go round to our regular home ed meet up today and play with friends, have a catch up.

The next morning Sam is feeling better and keen to start jogging again. He was disappointed  to have to stop due to his asthma flailing up.

We collected so pebbles to paint.

Back home Owen worked on attempting some cursive writing, but he found it frustratingly hard.

This week sees the children's birthdays. There were cards and presents to open.

New clothes for both of them.

Which they were happy with.

Lots of cards and birthday money.

And some chocolate cake as requested.

Plus huge chocolate bars.

We took the boys to town so they could spend their birthday money and to the supermarket, where they wanted to buy their own choice of birthday meals. Curry for Owen and Steak pie for Sam.
