September is here.

Sam watching a storm, doing sit ups and maths...the supreme multitasker.

We talked about weather and marvelled at a double rainbow.

Sam doing speed writing to my dictation.

Some maths for both boys. Roman numerals.

Order of operations.

Owen did some speed writing ..but he wasn't happy with his first attempt and asked to do more.

Owen cleaned his giant snail and fed it.

Sam and I did a 10km walk and spotted signs of Autumn.

Our old girl has an infection and after a check up we made a decision to operate.

She was very poorly when she came home.

Us waiting for the vet to call, so we could collect her...it was a long day.

The operation really knocked the stuffing out of her.

After 24 hrs she walked again but was cold, so we improvised a hoodie for her.

Two days later she had perked up considerably. PHEW

We visited Sam's consultant for his regular check up. After the drive down, we let the boys stretch their legs at the park before going to the hospital.

The sun came out for us.

Sam was excited at seeing his favourite professional.

We had time to visit the Glass house too.

The children burned for the camera.

Little monkeys ...

We found the queen bee and read about the life cycle of the resident bees. This is something the children are always interested in.

And spotted an interesting moth..

Sam's consultation went well. His consultant is always awesome and helpful. We were once again delighted with the revised treatment plan.

On the way home we stopped at one of our fav pubs for our evening meal.

The next day I got up at sunrise for a run.

Then we played scrabble.

Learnt about Marie Curie and discussed the pros and cons of her discoveries/work.

I thought it maybe useful to put up a picture of our whiteboard ..it helps everyone ( especially me) stay focused and have ideas and suggestions when we get stumped or bored.

There was more scrabble.

Many books were read. Sam studied his coins and reference books. Owen researched his interests and played with his home ed friends online. There was time at the park, some animation and life skills.
