More science, seeing friends, space and forces awakening .

Sam did a word search and some fact finding from the science magazine we bought. He enjoyed the experiments too.

We looked up how to make fire with ice...

And proved that flames don't create a shadow.

After which we demonstrated how to move water using a candle/fire and talked about how this is possible.

Owen became very intrigued by this and especially enjoys lighting the match ( Sam finds that bit terrifiying and leaves it to me).

Owen asked to perform this experiment over and over...

We watched this programme on Tim Peake the British Cosmonaut.

Both boys have asked for swimming lessons, in order to do this , they first had to be assessed. Tonight two nervous parents watched with pride as Sam achieved his stage 3 and Owen his Stage 2... (Not sure what that actually means *eek*) .

The 'lady was very nice' and they would like to go ahead but only if we can get the 'nice lady ' and only on a 1:1 basis..which is what Blokey and I would prefer for them anyway. So that's what we are going to try and do.

The next day we did our Ri advent activities no learnt more about the impending space launch. A friend sent us a link to a live feed online and we watched the launch.

We later watched the coverage of the astronauts docking onto the space station. The boys were amused that the space station was actually orbiting over the UK just as they drew close to connecting.

This is the view from the rocket cam.

These are the cameras on the ISS as the rocket approaches

In other news , our mushrooms started to look more mushie like.

And the children had a great time at their Christmas Themed Jujitsu session

Over night our mushies were even bigger...

Over breakfast we looked at the days Ri advent activity

Experiments in zero gravity

And watched footage of Tim Peake boarding ISS

In the afternoon we joined friends for a Christmas gathering and play. There were lots of yummy treats and we all enjoyed chatting and playing.

Blokey finished work today and this considered with the local premier of The Force Awakens, so three very excited men folk set off for a galaxy far, far away.
